There are many ways to financially support CoaH's ministries. You can give online, through the offering basket, or through the mail.

You can make a one-time or recurring gift via credit, debit, or ACH (digital check). Note: ACH has the lowest fees associated for the church.
Giving platform update:
In 2022 we are swapping our giving platform from Church Community Builder (CCB) to Planning Center Online (PCO). We will completely phase out CCB in 2022 and only use PCO starting in 2023. Please plan to shift your giving over ASAP. Here is a link to the old platform.
OFFERING BASKET
You can give by placing a check or cash in the offering basket during our Sunday worship gatherings. Checks and designated cash envelopes will be recorded on the Sunday when they are received. Please note that your name and address must be clearly identifiable on your check or envelope in order to receive an acknowledgement of your contribution for IRS tax purposes

Checks will be recorded on the postmark date on the envelope. For gifts made by mail at the end of the year, IRS regulations require that contributions for a given tax year be postmarked by December 31st of that year.
ASSET-BASED GIVING
Did you know that you can give stock, crypto-currency, real estate or even business interest to increase the value of your investment?
Giving from investment accounts, crypto holdings, real estate, and business interests can increase your impact without restricting your cash. By donating non-cash assets you may actually reduce taxes while reaching your giving goals.
We have partnered with The Signatry to create a charity fund to receive non-cash assets. The Signatry also works with families to help create and manage planned giving strategies. You can check out their resources here.
To give stock - Download and complete the Notice of Stock & Mutual Fund Gift Form . Be sure to save a copy for yourself and email the form to both donorcare@thesignatry.com and finance@coahsomerville.org. Our fund name is “The City on a Hill Church Somerville Charity Fund,” and the Fund ID number is 2516911.
To give cryptocurrency - Signatry has partnered with Engiven to process crypto donations. Complete the crypto donation form and be sure to include “The City on a Hill Church Somerville Charity Fund - Fund ID: 2516911” in the Memo field.
WHY WE GIVE
For Christians, giving is an act of worship. We recognize that God has already given his Son for us. And so we give in response to what he has given us. Everything we own belongs to God anyways, and we can't take it with us, so we pool our resources as a group of believers to serve God's kingdom.
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
City on a Hill Somerville is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization. Each year, the treasurer and elders prepare a budget, which is subsequently presented to our members for approval. Further, we present regular financial updates to our members to maintain accountability in the stewardship of our finances.
The regular giving of CoaH members and supporters is used to pay salaries, support ministries, pay bills, and serve our neighborhood. Annual giving statements will be mailed each January for the prior year. Further, over 10% of the gifts we receive is contributed toward mission projects and church plants around the globe.
CAN I DESIGNATE MY GIFT TO A PARTICULAR MINISTRY?
The best way to support the church is just by giving toward the general fund so that we can use funds as they are budgeted each year. If you would like to make a designated gift, please reach out to our treasurer, Mark Schmeissing - mark@coahchurch.org
ARE THERE ANY FEES ASSOCIATED WITH ONLINE GIVING?
You will not be charged any fees to give online. However, when you make an online gift with a credit card, CoaH incurs credit card processing fees that typically range from 2% to 3%. Some gifts made via debit card or ACH have minimal fees associated with them.
